Although these are civil remedies, in the State of Oregon there are three ways to protect yourself from someone else, these are referred to as “protective orders” or “no contact orders” and they include: restraining orders, stalking orders, and elderly/disabled person prevention orders. Each of these is different in some respects and each order has its own advantages and disadvantages depending on your situation. For example, they can differ in who is eligible to apply for them, how long they last, and what the consequences are if violated. Mr. Sarparast has advised clients with regard to each of these protective orders and successfully represented clients in matters involving protective orders. This includes representing those individuals who are looking to pursue a protective order against someone and those who have been served with a protective order and now want to fight it.
