An attorney’s background can make a difference.


SARPA LAW is the law office founded by Attorney Yaschar Sarparast. Mr. Sarparast received his B.A. with high honors in Political Science with a special certificate in International Relations from the University of Florida, where he was a Bright Futures Scholar and received a full ride scholarship. Before passing the age of 21 he was interning for the local government in their probation services and volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. He received his J.D. with cum laude honors from Gonzaga University School of Law, where he graduated near the top of his class. At Gonzaga University, Mr. Sarparast was appointed as an articled Associate Editor for the Journal of International Law and also received Excellence for the Future Awards for both Constitutional Law and for Immigration Law. His other significant achievements included being placed on the Dean’s List several times, being appointed through a national search as a liaison to the American Bar Association, and being hired under a law student license to work for in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 insurance corporation.


Prior to the founding of SARPA LAW, Mr. Sarparast worked in various capacities throughout the Northwest United States, including the following: interning for a State Supreme Court judge, prosecuting as a deputy district attorney for several years, teaching as an adjunct professor, and working as a private lawyer for one of the oldest law firms in the local area. He accomplished these goals all prior to reaching the age of 30. Mr. Sarparast is admitted to the Oregon State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. He has exceeded the required attorney Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits every license renewal period. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Sarparast has been involved in countless organizations meant to improve the communities where has lived and worked, volunteering his time outside of the office. This includes organizations such as:

  • Multnomah Bar Association – Young Lawyers Section
  • Oregon Institute of Technology – President’s Council
  • Family Head Start – Executive Board
  • Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Fund – Executive Officer
  • Special Olympics – Snowboard and Ski Coach
  • Ashland Public Library – Friends Board Member
  • Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity – Board of Directors
  • Northwest Seasonal Workers Association – Volunteer Attorney

Mr. Sarparast has been fortunate to have lived in and traveled to many states and countries. He especially feels privileged to practice law in Southern Oregon amongst some of the friendliest people and most breathtaking scenery. He enjoys all seasons of the outdoors and is always looking for the next extreme sport. Many of his clients go on to have successful lives and choose to invite him to spend time with their families, which he greatly values.
